INDIA TRACING BACK THE MAIN CULPRIT OF MUMBAI BLAST 1990 - DAWOOD IBRAHIM

Dawood, Mumbai blasts mastermind, eludes justice

Last week, Indian intelligence agencies intercepted a call made from Karachi to Dubai. The Karachi caller was discussing millions of US dollar worth investment in the United Arab Emirates with his Gulf-based counterpart.

A quick match with known voice samples revealed that the caller was a certain Shaikh Dawood Hasan Ibrahim, none other than the mastermind of the 1993 Mumbai blasts and India’s most wanted criminal.

Twenty years after the Mumbai blasts, Dawood continues to elude justice. Questions have been raised on the Indian government’s will to get him. Indian agencies apparently don’t even have his recent photograph.

“But I don’t think the Indian government has given up its efforts to get Dawood,” Arun Jaitley, leader of the opposition in Rajya Sabha, told HT on Thursday.
“We have failed since all evidence reveals he is in the protective custody of our neighbour. Perhaps more bilateral and international pressure needs to be put on Pakistan."

The Dubai business details discussed in last week's intercepted call were shared with revenue intelligence agencies. It was evident Dawood was playing big in real estate, fertiliser and shipping, and his area of operation stretched from Mumbai to the US via Dubai.
In the same call, Dawood's wife Mahajabeen is heard chatting with one of her two daughters based in Dubai about an upcoming Bollywood movie based on the life of her husband.
Official sources admit despite keeping a constant tab on Dawood and his associates like Chhota Shakeel, Fahim Muchmuch, Ahmed Langda and Javed Chikna, they have been unsuccessful in nabbing him or cracking down on his India operations. Indian intelligence believes Dawood is the force behind circulating fake Indian currency, drugs smuggling and many real estate deals in the country.
During his meeting with FBI director Robert Mueller in Washington in September 2009, then home minister P Chidambaram discussed ways to get the terrorist. Mueller told him Dawood's business footprint was expanding in the US and the time had come for both countries to share information on him.
Last May, home secretary RK Singh handed over a list of '49 most wanted fugitives from justice' to Pakistan. As many as 18 of the 49 fugitives belong to D Company. Dawood has three Pakistani passports, three houses in Karachi, and keys to ISI safe houses on Islamabad-Muree Road and the Pakistani capital's Margalla Road.

Sony Xperia Z models suffering from random shutdowns and deaths

Sony Xperia Z models suffering from random shutdowns and deaths'

Some people who’ve purchased the Xperia Z, the latest flagship Android phone from Sony have complained on sony forums  that their brand-new Xperia Z’s have been randomly crashing. While some of these users were able to fix the issue by doing a hard-reset of the device by pressing the volume up and power buttons together, others complained that their phones still continued crashing randomly while some even said that the hard reset was unable to restart their phone.

A support representative from Sony
did eventually respond to the complaints saying that the reason for the problems had been recognized and that Sony would issue a fix along with the next software update for the Xperia Z. However, there was no mention of a timeframe for the update.

The Xperia Z was launched earlier this month and
WE were quite impressed by phone. The phone is capable of resisting dust and even being immersed in water and sports an excellent display and camera.

For the time being, we’re not sure if this problem extends to Xperia Z users in India too and we didn’t suffer from these issues on our review unit but if you’ve been facing similar issues, do let us know in the comments section below

SANJAY DUTT APPEALS TO SET HIM FREE FROM MUMBAI BLAST CASE

Katju pitches for Sanjay Dutt, appeals to Maharashtra Governor to set him free

New Delhi: Following the upholding of the sentencing of film star Sanjay Dutt to five years imprisonment by the Supreme Court in 1993 Mumbai blasts case, Press Council of India chief Justice Markandey Katju has appealed to Maharashtra Governor K Sankarnarayanan to pardon the actor. In a statement issued in New Delhi, Katju sought pardon for Dutt under Article 161 of the Constitution saying that he had not been found guilty of having played a role in the 1993 blasts and had suffered a lot.
Katju said the Supreme Court, having found that Sanjay Dutt had in his possession a prohibited weapon without a licence, awarded him the minimum imprisonment which was prescribed under law. "Section 25 (1(A) of the Arms Act states that if a person has in his possession a prohibited weapon without a licence, he shall be awarded punishment of not less than 5 years imprisonment and not more than 10 years," Katju said.
He added the power of pardon under Article 161 by the Constitution is different from judicial power as the Governor or the President can grant pardon or reduce the sentence of the court even if a minimum is prescribed. "Hence, there is no doubt that the Governor can grant pardon/reduce the sentence. For example, in the case of Commander Nanavati who was held guilty of murder, the Governor gave him pardon although the minimum sentence for murder is life sentence," Katju said.

He said the Supreme Court had not found Dutt guilty for the 1993 bomb blasts but only found him guilty of having in his possession a prohibited weapon without licence. "Surely, this is a lesser offence than murder. When the Governor of Maharashtra granted pardon to Nanavati, surely he can grant pardon to Sanjay," Katju said.
He added though Dutt had committed an offence there are extenuating circumstances like that the event happened 20 years ago. "During this period, Sanjay suffered a lot and had a cloud hovering over his head throughout. He had to undergo various tribulations and indignities during this period. He had to go to court often, he had to take the permission of the court for foreign shootings, he could not get bank loans, etc," Katju said.
The PCI chairperson said Dutt had already undergone 18 months in jail. He added the actor had got married and they have two small children. "He has not been held to be a terrorist and had no hand in the bomb blasts. His parents Sunil Dutt and Nargis worked for the good of society and the nation. Sunil Dutt and Nargis often went to border areas to give moral support to our brave jawans and did other social work for society," Katju said.
Katju further added that Dutt in this period of 20 years has through his films revived the memory of Mahatma Gandhi and the message of Gandhiji, the Father of the Nation, an apparent reference to "Gandhigiri" in Munnabhai films. "In these circumstances, I respectfully appeal to your Excellency to pardon Sanjay Dutt and set him free," Katju said in his letter to the Maharashtra Governor and referred to the speech of Portia in Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice that justice should be tempered with mercy.

Sachin Tendulkar on cusp of breaking more records against Australia

Sachin Tendulkar on cusp of breaking more records against Australia

Sachin Tendulkar (3597 runs) needs another 40 runs to overhaul the existing record run aggregate against Australia of 3636 by Jack Hobbs of England.

several records against Australia at home. Some of the statistical highs include highest run-getter, most fifties and the maximum number of centuries. Ahead of the fourth and final Test at the Feroz Shah Kotla, here is a look at the approaching milestones:

# Sachin Tendulkar (3597 runs) needs another 40 runs to overhaul the existing record run aggregate of 3636 by Jack Hobbs of England against Australia. If he gets these runs, he would then have the most runs against Australia.

# Tendulkar requires three more runs for his 3600 runs against Australia. If he gets them, he would become the second batsman in the annals of Test cricket to amass 3600 runs against Australia. Hobbs has scored 3636 runs against the Aussies.

# Tendulkar has scored 27 fifties against Australia and share the record for most fifties against Australia with Hobbs, who also has scored 27 fifties. Tendulkar requires one more fifty to own the record for most fifties against Australia.

# Tendulkar has scored 11 hundreds against Australia. One more century will enable him to equal Hobbs' 12 tons against the Australians.

# Tendulkar has scored 1788 runs against Australia at home and requires 212 runs for his 2000 runs. If he gets them, he would become the first Indian batsman and also the first batsman to aggregate 2000 runs on home soil against Australia.

# Tendulkar, Graham Gooch and Herbert Sutcliffe have scored nine half centuries at home against Australia. One more half century will make Tendulkar to share the record of most half centuries at home against Australia. Michael Atherton of England has scored ten half centuries at home.

# Ricky Ponting, Tendulkar, Jacques Kallis and Mahela Jayawardene share the record for most hundreds on home soil. All the four batsmen have scored 22 hundreds. One more hundred for Tendulkar would give him his 23rd hundred and with it the record for most hundreds on home soil.

# On the flip side, Tendulkar has been dismissed bowled on 27 occasions on home soil. One more bowled dismissal would be his 28th bowled dismissal which would make him to share the record with Rahul Dravid, who has been dismissed bowled on 28 occasions. Allan Border holds the record with 31 bowled dismissals at home.

# Interestingly, Tendulkar has been dismissed bowled on 54 occasions in his Test career. One more bowled dismissal would make him to share the record with Dravid who has been dismissed bowled in 55 occasions.

4 Ways to Lose Weight Without Dieting or Exercising

4 Ways to Lose Weight Without Dieting or Exercising

Let’s be honest: By the time most of us hit middle age, we are carrying around a few unwanted pounds.

And even if you exercise and are careful about what you eat, those extra 5, 10, even 25 pounds can still be literally following you around every step of your day.
You may dream of dropping a dress size or two, or being able to comfortably tighten that belt just one more notch, but it can be difficult as life often seems to get in the way. Try as we might, sometimes we just can’t seem to shed those extra pounds.
Being overweight — even if it’s just by 10 or 20 pounds — is linked to significant health risks, including heart disease, diabetes, cancer and arthritis. In fact, recent research shows that being overweight can actually shave up to 10 years off your life!
So trying to lose weight is not just about looking good. The bottom line is that if you’re overweight, you’re unnecessarily jeopardizing the quality and length of your life.

Finding Natural Weight Loss Remedies That Work

My passion for natural health has always driven me to seek the truth and educate people on safe and effective natural solutions.
To me, weight loss is all about good health. We all know that our excess pounds tend to settle right around our midsections, the absolute unhealthiest place to carry extra weight. And crash diets and other temporary solutions are just that — temporary.
Good health is something you want to enjoy for the rest of your life.
Rather than continuing to curse your metabolic fate or feeling guilty that you lack monk-like self-disciple at the dinner table, why not focus on easy, natural ways to get the help you need to shed those pesky extra pounds? And the best part is you can do it without dieting or making any other drastic changes to your daily routine.
I’m going to share with you what I’ve learned about some newly discovered, little-known natural weight loss remedies that I believe are the safest and most effective tools out there for achieving lasting weight loss.

Don’t Trust Big Pharma’s ‘Magic Pills’

There are hundreds of different diets out there, and we’ve all seen weight loss gimmicks come and go. But the fact is, the vast majority of fad diets simply don’t work. Studies show that 5 out of 6 people who try to lose weight fail, and nearly all of those who do succeed gain the weight back within two years!
Many people are desperate to find a weight loss solution that works. Knowing this, Big Pharma has tried to make big bucks with a blockbuster weight loss drug, but their efforts have been a disaster. Every “magic pill” they have come up with has been deemed ineffective at best and, at worst, downright dangerous to your health.
Over the last few years, I’ve reviewed practically every research paper written on natural weight loss and have interviewed leading experts in the field including Dr. Harry Preuss, one of my newsletter’s advisory board members. Dr. Preuss, a researcher at Georgetown University and author of The Natural Fat-Loss Pharmacy, is considered to be one of the world’s foremost experts on natural weight loss solutions.
Based on my findings, there are natural compounds that can help you lose a significant amount of weight. And the natural, healthy solutions I’m about to introduce to you have no annoying side effects — you’ll just look better and feel better at the same time you are improving you chances of a long, healthy life.

4 Keys to Natural Weight Loss Success

No single strategy is enough to help you lose the weight you need to. That’s why my advice to achieve fast, safe and lasting weight loss is to follow this proven four-pronged approach:
1. Block Carbs: The typical American diet is heavy on carbohydrates, which are packed with calories and can easily become extra weight. By naturally blocking your body’s ability to absorb certain carbohydrates, you can reduce your calorie intake without any extra effort on your part.
2. Curb Appetite: When your stomach is growling, it’s hard to make good eating decisions. But what if you could naturally induce the feeling of being full? Certain nutrients can do just this, helping you reduce your total calorie intake with almost no effort.
3. Increase Calorie Burn: Today’s fast-paced lifestyle can make it virtually impossible to exercise enough. But there are natural ways to rev up your metabolism, helping you burn more calories day and night without doing any additional exercise.
4. Reduce Fat: Most of us have more body fat than we’d like, and it seems impossible to make it go away. Turns out there are some impressive nutrients that literally “melt” away fat and help create more lean muscle mass, which is essential for maintaining a healthy weight.
In order to follow this four-pronged approach to losing weight, let’s now examine the most effective nutrient for each category, as indicated by the latest clinical research.

The Best Carb Blocker on the Planet

A natural extract derived from white kidney beans, called phaseolamin, is perhaps the world’s most effective mechanism for neutralizing the starch found in foods like potatoes, bread and pasta. If your love for carbs has been an obstacle to losing weight, this nutrient can help.
A UCLA study showed that those who took phaseolamin lost twice as much weight as those in the group who received a placebo. And 1,500 mg per day is the dosage used in most studies.

How to Easily Curb Your Appetite

Craving foods when you’re not truly hungry is perhaps the single greatest obstacle to maintaining a healthy weight. However, research has proven that a naturally occurring compound extracted from tamarind fruit, called hydroxycitrate or HCA, can actually suppress hunger.
According to an eight-week study conducted at Georgetown University, a group of individuals taking HCA lost an average of 12 pounds each, compared to just three pounds for the placebo group. The optimal dosage to take is 4,500 mg daily.

Burn More Calories Without Lifting a Finger

Despite our best efforts, we usually end up consuming more calories than we need. Exercise is clearly important, but there’s a safe and natural way to “cheat” the system. It turns out that a unique compound in green tea called EGCG can significantly increase calorie burn — enough to essentially wipe out the caloric equivalent of one to two meals per week, according to the latest research.
The best way to achieve meaningful results is with a green tea extract that is standardized to at least 50 percent EGCG, and 300 mg is the minimum daily dose you need to get these results.

Say Goodbye to Excess Fat on Your Body

You’ve probably heard of chromium before, but few people realize that a specific form, known as niacin-bound chromium, can play a critical role in weight loss. In the fight to lose weight, excess body fat is the hardest to get rid of, since your body is designed to hold on to fat to use as an “emergency fuel” in case of famine.
However, research shows that supplementing with niacin-bound chromium can result in a significant loss of stubborn body fat, while at the same time increasing essential lean muscle mass. To get these results, you need to take about 200 mcg per day.

Putting It All Together

I invite you to do your own research, and compare the natural weight loss supplements available at your local pharmacy or health food store to this four-pronged approach.
Here are some key ingredients and dosages to look for:
  • 1,500 mg of Fabenol Max, a premium grade white bean extract of exceptional purity. White bean extract has been proven to neutralize carbs.
  • 4,500 mg of Super HCA, a standardized form of HCA (hydroxycitric acid), which has been shown to suppress appetite.
  • 450 mg of Super EGCG, a potent green tea extract that has been clinically proven to burn up to 5 percent more calories per day.
  • 200 mcg of ChromeMate, a patented form of chromium that not only burns fat but ensures the weight loss comes from fat, not muscle.

What is hair loss?

Alopecia, commonly known as baldness, typically refers to excessive loss of hair from the scalp, and is experienced by more than half of men and women in the U.S. at some point in their lives. In addition, nearly 30 percent of people suffer some kind of hair loss by age 30 and about 50 percent have it by age 50. In fact, hair loss is so common that it is often considered a normal sign of aging and not a disease.

What are the symptoms and how is it diagnosed?

Hair loss can be separated into two categories based on re-growth. Permanent hair loss typically falls under the classification of “pattern” or androgenetic alopecia, and occurs in both males and females. Male pattern baldness can begin quite early - sometimes even in the teens and early twenties - but more often develops after age 50. It is often characterized by balding at the top of the head with or without a receding hairline at the temples, the end result being partial or complete baldness. And hair loss isn't just a male problem. Many women experience female-pattern baldness, which manifests as progressive, thinning hair at the front, sides or top of the head. Complete hair loss is rarely experienced in women, who usually maintain their frontal hairline. Other permanent baldness can occur due to scarring or inflammation that damages follicles, causing hair to stop growing. This is rare, but if it does occur, it most often causes patchy hair loss that can itch and burn.
Other types of alopecia are temporary, and can involve the scalp or other parts of the body. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition that attacks hair follicles causing hair on the head to fall out, usually in small patches about the size of a quarter. Most people don't lose all their hair, but some can. Essentially, this condition can cause baldness anywhere that hair grows, including eyebrows, eyelashes, the face, back, extremities and genitals. In a more severe form of the disease, people lose all the hair on their heads and everywhere else on their bodies (alopecia universalis). Unfortunately, autoimmune alopecia is unpredictable. Hair might come back, but if it does, it can fall out again. Some people continue to lose and re-grow hair for many years. Even among those who lose all their hair though, there's always a possibility that it can completely return.
Patchy hair loss can also occur as a result of certain hair styles that maintain pressure on hair or pull it tightly. This traction alopecia can come from wearing hair in braids, pigtails, cornrows, or using tight hair rollers. Hair loss occurs typically at the site where hair is pulled. With continued pulling, scarring and damage to hair roots can occur over time. This can cause hair loss to become permanent. Telogen effluvium is stress-related temporary condition that occurs suddenly and involves the loss of large amounts of hair after combing, washing or gentle pulling. This type of hair loss creates an overall thinning of the scalp as opposed to bald spots or patches.

What are the causes?

A number of things can cause excessive hair loss. A severe illness or major surgery may suddenly cause the loss of a large amount of hair. This is usually temporary and is often related to physical or emotional stress (Telogen effluvium).
Nutritional deficiencies and hormonal problems may also contribute to hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be reversed by normalizing levels of thyroid hormone. Hair loss may also occur if male or female hormones are out of balance. Many women notice hair loss about 3 months after they've had a baby. It usually grows back, but can oftentimes be a different thickness or texture. Male pattern baldness develops when hair follicles are destroyed as a result of being exposed to too much dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a metabolite of the male sex hormone, testosterone. This is especially true when it runs in families.
Over-the-counter and prescription drugs can cause hair loss that most often improves when medications are stopped. These include blood thinners, birth control pills and some antidepressants, as well as medications used for gout, seizures, arthritis, heart problems, and high blood pressure. Undergoing chemotherapy or radiation may cause temporary hair loss that typically re-grows when treatments are finished. Certain fungal infections of the scalp can cause patchy hair loss, especially in children. Hair loss may also occur as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus, diabetes or iron deficiency anemia.
Finally, certain hair treatments that use chemical dyes, bleaches, and straightening or curling agents, can damage hair and cause it to break off if used incorrectly or too often. Excessive brushing, combing or styling of hair can damage the hair shaft or roots, also causing it to fall out or break. Extreme twisting or pulling of hair can ultimately leave patches of baldness, especially when it becomes obsessive and uncontrolled.

What is the conventional treatment?

Conventional treatments focus on promoting hair growth or hiding hair loss. First priority should be to recognize and treat identifiable causes of hair loss, such as medications, infections, nutritional deficiencies, medical conditions or hormonal imbalances.
Certain drug treatments may help to slow or prevent the development of pattern baldness in men or women. Minoxidil (brand name: Rogaine), is available without a prescription and is used for pattern baldness and alopecia areata. It is directly applied as a liquid or foam to the scalp. New hair growth may be shorter and thinner than normal but sufficient enough to hide bald spots or blend with existing hair. It may take several weeks to notice an effect, and new hair growth slows down soon after you stop taking it. Another drug, finasteride (brand name: Propecia), is available by prescription only. It comes in pill form and is only indicated for men, as it poses a serious danger to women of child-bearing age - even skin contact can result in absorption of the drug and lead to birth defects in pregnant women. It works by stopping the conversion of testosterone into DHT.
Steroid injections are sometimes used as a suppressive treatment for patches of alopecia areata. Ointments and creams can also be used, but aren't as effective. Another topical treatment consists of using Anthralin ointment, a synthetic substance made from tar used to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis, that may stimulate hair growth in those with autoimmune hair loss. Surgical treatments involving hair transplantation or scalp reduction are often a last resort but may be effective in the right candidate, although they can be expensive.

What therapies does Dr. Weil recommend for hair loss?

The good news is there are some changes you can make that may help prevent further loss of hair and encourage re-growth. Try the following:
  • Dietary changes: Include omega-3 fatty acids in your diet. Try to eat salmon (preferable wild Alaskan salmon), sardines, herring or mackerel two or three times a week. Or, sprinkle two tablespoons of freshly ground flaxseeds per day on your cereal or salads, or eat walnuts.
  •
  • Mind/Body: If the hair loss is autoimmune in nature, as several noted above are, mind-body treatments such as hypnosis, psychotherapy and guided imagery therapy may be useful.
  •
  • Supplements: Try the essential fatty acid called GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) in the form of black currant oil or evening primrose oil, available in capsules or soft gels at health food stores. Take 500 mg of either twice a day. Be patient. You won't see results for six to eight weeks. Dr. Weil has also read a few reports that the herb saw palmetto (Serenoa repens) used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), can promote hair growth in men. He thinks the effect, if any, is modest. However, James A. Duke, Ph.D., a leading authority on healing herbs and author of The Green Pharmacy, explains that saw palmetto may indeed promote hair growth since it inhibits conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) not unlike Propecia. The recommended dose is 160 mg of an extract standardized to 85-95% total fatty acids twice daily.
  •
  • Also: Handle your hair gently, allowing it to air-dry whenever possible. Avoid hairstyles that create unnecessary tension on hair such as braids, buns, ponytails or cornrows, as well as compulsively twisting or pulling your hair. If adequate treatment is not available, you may consider different hairstyles or wigs, hairpieces, hair weaves or artificial hair replacement that helps to minimize the effects of balding.

Hormone Sensitivity, Inflammation, and Nizoral

Male Pattern Baldness is hormonal and genetic. A sensitivity to DHT (dihydrotestosterone) which develops in the scalp. This sensitivity can cause tingling, inflammation, itching, and scalp pain. Controlling both the DHT sensitivity and calming the scalp are critical to successfully treating hair loss.
This is why no matter what treatment regimen you use, Nizoral shampoo absolutely must be included. Though it is marketed as an anti-dandruff shampoo, it effectively handles both the hormonal and inflammation-related causes of hair loss. It is the only shampoo that can do this.
In fact, your first order of business is to go out and get Nizoral today, whether or not you have any current itching. Use it once every 3 days, and let it soak for the duration of your shower. No legitimate treatment (below) will work without it.

Four Types of Hair Loss Treatments

Expect your doctor to only know about Propecia and Rogaine. These two make up the backbone of a scientifically backed treatment regimen. However, there is a myriad of other potentially helpful treatments which can be used to enhance your results. Let's take a look at the four types of treatments which help stop hair loss:
  • DHT Inhibitors - These work to reduce levels of DHT, by inhibiting its creation. The result is less DHT in your scalp, and relief for your follicles from the damaging effects it can bring. DHT inhibitors are found in products like Propecia, and Revivogen. DHT inhibitors are equated with "stopping the cause of hair loss", and are the foundational component to treating it.

  • Growth Stimulants - These include products like Rogaine Foam and Tricomin. There is a good side and a bad side to growth stimulants. While they create new hair growth, they do nothing to stop the cause, or further progression. Using only a growth stimulant can be an uphill battle. Two steps forward, one step back. Many guys combine DHT inhibitors with growth stimulants for a beautifully synergistic effect. Both stopping the cause, and stimulating new growth.

  • Antiandrogens - The king of antiandrogens is Topical , or S5 Cream. Whereas DHT inhibitors eliminate DHT, Antiandrogens like Topical Spi block DHT from reaching the follicle. This enables men to avoid systemic side effects of lowered DHT levels, and it is a phenomenally effective way of stopping the whole "hormonal" process from another angle. If you really want to go crazy, you can combine a DHT inhibitor, a growth stimulant, and an Antiandrogen for a complete, multifaceted approach.

  • Anti-Inflammatories - These treatments work to reduce inflammation, itching, redness, and flaking caused by the hormonal and immune system reactions going on in your scalp. Without an anti-inflammatory, your treatments will not work. We strongly believe that the best Anti-inflammatory on the market today is SHAMPOO, and should be included in every regimen. Use once every 3 days, allow to soak for the duration of your shower, and rotate with any other shampoo of choice
